This and That

We haven't done anything extraordinary these past few days so I will just hit the highlights and thrill you with our amazingly fascinating ordinary happenings. We were invited over to dinner at the Spangeberg's house the other night. Ella really likes their daughter, Kyra, and had fun with Kyra's 'pretties' (hair decorations).

You can't really tell from the picture, but Mason ended up with even more 'pretties' in his hair than Ella.(They were in the back of his hair). I don't know if he was the one who put them in, or the girls. Probably a little of both.

The highlight of our Friday night was something so exciting you might need to sit down. Ready? Well, we needed to go food shopping so Colton decided to accompany me there while Jaxon kept an eye on the little ones. One eye for each of them. It is amazing what I end up buying when Colton comes with me. He has been looking out for something for weeks, and tonight they finally had it. It is an automatic soap dispenser, like the kind they have in public bathrooms. You just put your hand in front of the sensor and soap pours out into your palm. The kids were sooooo excited to try this when we got home, that everyone lined up to wash their hands multiple times. It was like we were on an episode of ER and everyone was getting ready to scrub in for surgery.

And of course germ-a-phobic Jaxon had to scrub his hands with it for a while. That kid can use half a bottle each time.

On Saturday morning Christy and I set off for the Homburg flea market bright and early. Since Jaxon is slowly turning into a nocturnal creature and doesn't arise before 10-12 in the morning/afternoon, I solicited Danielle to babysit while we went. We had a good time and found some fun things, nothing spectacular but enough to require the purchase of a wagon to carry everything back to the car in.

In the afternoon, after some cleaning and recycling...

(this is Colton attempting to walk back to the house with the paper recycling bucket on his head)

we went to a birthday party, saw the Turner's for a bit, and had a fairly calm night. We tried to sign up for Netflix over the computer. Here's Jaxon excited to see the missing episodes of 24 thru Netflix:

But then we had trouble downloading movies because we live outside the US. So, I'll let you know later how that all turns out.
Ella is a budding photographer and took some pictures of Mason and me. Here's one with us attempting to look cranky: (Since Mason is NEVER cranky in real life, it was VERY hard for him to pretend to be cranky for this picture)

And here we are as our usual, happy selves:

And last, but not least, my alarm clock relocated. This morning he decided to go for a 'sure thing' instead of Mom. I guess he thought he'd have better luck getting Ella to get out of bed and play with him. This is how I found them:
